What type of school is ICS?? Is it Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Jiu jitsu, etc..??
ICS is a
school that studies Combat Science. Combat Science concepts are derived from real world experiences, Kuntao, Kali, Escrima,
Ninjutsu and other components. Our teaching methods allow the practitioner to take home effective concepts that can work that
same day if the situation allows. We are not a school were you spend many years trying to learn to survive, you will survive
from day one of training.
Why are you so inexpensive??
We have no
overhead and no egos to feed. The founder of ICS, Henry Infante, has been down the road of paying hundreds every month for
training. His vision is to have a school where people don’t have to mortgage their homes to train. Training is supposed
to be fun and exciting, not financially stressful.
How are the classes conducted??
There is
no bowing or titles used in class. The instructor is referred to by his first name. Since this is an adults only class, discipline
is something you should already have. We are very non-traditional! Humor and laughter fills the air in class but so does hard
core training. If you want to learn to survive you have to be willing to listen and train hard.
Concepts??
We do not
believe in techniques! Techniques get you killed, concepts keep you alive. In a real world altercation you will not be able
to perform a perfect throw or wrist lock (wrist locks are not as effective in a fight as they are in the dojo). We train to
find the openings, discombobulate the opponent, control the situation and then apply a lock or break the limb. Remember, we
are a school of Combat Science, our trophy is making
it home at night.
Ninjutsu?? Are you in the Genbukan or Bujinkan??
ICS started
as a Bujinkan school, our foundation is based on the basics from the Bujinkan. Throughout the years we began to think outside
the box and discovered many wonderful elements that were just as effective in half the time. We have much respect for Hatsumi
Sensei (Grandmaster of the Bujinkan) and his teachings, but due to the variety of arts we incorporate it would not be fair
to classify ourselves as a one system school. If you are interested in Bujinkan training we can direct you in the
right direction regarding quality instructors.
What real world experience do you gather your concepts from??
ICS founder
Henry Infante is no stranger to Close Quarters Combat. He has been involved in Executive and Dignitary protection for over
15 years. Aside from that, his experience in nightclub security (16 years) has helped to understand confrontational scenarios
with innocent bystanders involved. He has seen more stabbings, shootings and broken bones than most paramedics do in a career!
Henry is
the Director of Operations for the World Institute for Security Enhancement (www.worldinstitute.org), the Institute has taken him to many cities and countries to teach Executive Protection, CQC and Counter Terrorism principles.
The
instructors from the other locations, are they qualified to teach the same concepts that Henry shares??
All instructors
are personally promoted by Henry Infante, his requirements are extremely difficult to achieve. The only people authorized
to teach ICS concepts are:
- Sifu Steven Tarrago
- David Schorn
- Hector Garcia Villamil
- David De Jesus
- Richard Bailey
- Richard Coffer
- Vincent Finizio
- Najeeb Haber
- Karl S. Dorelien
- Andrew Paterson
These instructors have the 100% complete confidence of Henry to share ICS across the globe.
The classes
are kept small to offer more attention to the individual.
ICS students
are exposed to several instructors, this helps them learn from many sources.
There are
no contracts or phone calls chasing you to join. If you attend you learn, if you miss class then you fall behind, the
choice is yours. Not all potential students are accepted.
